In today's society, career development has become one of the biggest stressors to a majority of people. Whether you are trying to obtain the skills to get a job or keep the one you have, training has become a necessity. To help ease some of this anxiety, Kelly's Counseling Services has implemented a Career Development Division. Below you will find a list of courses to help gain the training needed to secure employment or improve personal growth.
CPR/First Aid Certification:
Adult CPR/AED
The Adult CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims about 12 years and older. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult CPR/AED valid for two years.
Adult CPR/AED/First Aid
The Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims about 12 years and older. Successful students will receive a certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.
Adult/Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid
The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.
BLS
Breathing new life into resuscitation education, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) is designed to train professionals to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies for adult, child, and infant victims. Consistent with the 2010 AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC, BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration and practice, case-based emergency response scenarios, and reflection and debriefing activities with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year “Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers” digital certificate with anytime, anywhere access to certificate and training history.
Satori SAMA Certification:
Satori for Professionals
The SAMA (Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression) program focuses on preventing aggression from becoming physically harmful. The emphasis of the course is on using the Assisting Process in all interactions and is demonstrated in all four programs.
This program meets the requirements for TBSI (Texas Behavior Support Initiative) for those working with certain populations, such as Residential Treatment Centers, State Facilities, Group Homes, Foster Parents, and Law Enforcement.
The course presents information and demonstrations on a DVD. Using the Facilitator Manual, a certified facilitator leads participants through skills practice followed by performance assessments at the end of each program.
The four programs are:
v Principles and Assisting Process
v Protection of Self and Others
v Containment
v Object Retrieval
Satori Basics for Non-Professionals
This SAMA (Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression) program focuses on preventing aggression from becoming physically harmful. The emphasis of the course is on using the Assisting Process in many interactions and is demonstrated in the first 2 modules of the programs.
This program is intended for those with an interest in learning alternatives to manage aggression in the home environment.
The course presents information and demonstrations on a DVD. Using the Facilitator Manual, a certified facilitator leads participants through skills practice followed by performance assessments at the end of each program.
The two modules covered are:
v Principles and Assisting Process
v Protection of Self and Others
* All CPR/First Aide facilitators are certified through the Red Cross or American Heart Association.
* All Satori facilitators are certified through Satori Learning Designs.
* Classes are available both during the week and weekends at the main office. Seating is limited, so call ahead to make reservations.
* Reservations need to be made a minimum of 3 business days in advance.
* Classes are offered at facilities by appointment. Discount rates available!
